SECRETSUNDAZE surely is going to be one of the highlights of the week, as main men GILES SMITH and JAMES PRIESTLEY bring along a handful of artists from their tasteful The Secret Agency roster.
Leeds producer and dj YOUANDEWAN (Hypercolour, Leftroom, Secretsundaze) made his name with several great remixes for the likes of dOP and Maya Jane Coles, while the Secretsundaze label released several moody gems of his - like this years ‘Times’ and ‘Be dark’.
OCTOBER (Julian Raymond Smith) is from musical melting pot Bristol, a city which definitely left a mark on his productions. Championed by the likes of Ewan Pearson and Ripperton, October is at its prime in the sweaty feverish peak of the night but equally adaptable to more hushed tones in the warm-up slot.
Then there’s Chicago dj and producer AMIR ALEXANDER, who releases on hot labels like Argot, Hypercolour and Sascha Dive’s label Deep Vibes. In both his records as behind the decks as a dj he brings a raw and gritty modern spin on classic Detroit, Chicago and New York underground sounds.
As Studio 80 ofcourse presents music in two rooms, there are even more artists on this extended party (23:00-06:00), including two live acts: Swedish forward thinking techno producer BLEAK (who releases on Delsin and Deeply Rooted Music) and JOHN DALY, whose music sits somewhere between house, techno, disco and dub. Electronic but still very organic, and extra deep
To make the secretsundaze night extra special the gentlemen also invited German techno legend and musical chameleon ROMAN FLUGEL, who produces music in many guises, like Soylent Green, Eight Miles High and Alter Ego, wich produced one of the biggest hits of the last ten years with the awesome ‘Rocker’. Just as exciting are Flugel’s banging tracks for Clone’s Jack For Daze-series. ‘More and more and more’ is vintage Flugel and definitely one of the coolest tracks of 2013.
All in all this secretsundaze ADE closing night is a party not to be missed. Expect a great vibe and lots of smiling faces - as always with the unstoppable secretsundaze posse.
