About the artists:
DJ Surgeles - Surgeles (Kole Leijen) is a true musician with a lot of energy. He started digging into his parent’s records collection at the age of five and at the young age of eight, his sister introduced him to house music. Soon after that, young Surgeles got his first set of turntables as a present for his birthday and started visiting regularly his local record dealer. While after a couple of years he started producing his own dark, deep and swerving techno. In 2005, while attending a Jeff Mills' show, Surgeles managed to give a demo CD to The Wizard. The very next day Surgeles received a personal mail from Jeff Mills claiming that his music sounded great and that it inspired him to let Surgeles make a mix for his Purpose Maker Label. Two weeks later Surgeles’ mix was on Jeffs Mills’ Axis Records’ website for the 10th anniversary of the all-time Techno anthem "The Bells". ! Later that year, during the Amsterdam Dance Event, Surgeles won a competition hosted by Dave Clarke for the best-produced track and was then picked to play on Dave Clarke’s White Noise radio show on 3FM Radio. Around 2007 Kole started throwing his own parties called ‘Civilized?” at the legendary Escape club in Amsterdam. While 2009 marked the beginning of his career as record-label boss, as he launched his brainchild: ‘Underground Freedom Fighters (UFF) Records’. ! Ever since, the collaborations with Jeff Mills kept on flowing and Surgeles' consecration came when Jeff asked him to make a compilation for his label, ‘Something In The Sky’. ! In 2017 Jeff entrusted DJ Surgeles to take care of “the Betty Hill Case”, a 12” inspired by the story and the interviews of an American couple, who were allegedly abducted by extraterrestrials in a rural portion of New Hampshire in 1961.

Awanto 3 - Pinning down Steven de Peven aka Awanto 3 is not an easy task.
Maybe it isn’t something one should do to anyone anyway, but in Steven’s case it’s just downright impossible
Steven is what you might call a true ‘release beast’ and not just of music that is. Innovating things is what he thrives on, which resulted in the release of books and music, the start of interesting collaborations, his diving into the world of multi-media and even opening up a shop. Steven’s studio is not found in the hectic streets of Amsterdam anymore, and neither is his home. He now lives an hour up north of Amsterdam in Bergen aan Zee, a beautiful place known for its community of artists. Some of the people there are calling Steven a neo-Dadaïst, referring to the art movement from the early 20th century. A moniker he proudly wears.
His studio is found a stone’s throw away from there. The elementary school he attended as a little kid is now turned into various studios.
If you’ve ever explored Steven’s work, a couple of things probably stood out. First, humour is always evident. And second to that, all his work is visually strong and distinctive. For Steven, music alone isn’t enough, there should be a visual illustration as well, and this illustration is never his own image. Overall this yin/yang balance in all of his work is what he strives for.
So how do we do the inconceivable? We pigeonhole Steven de Peven’s work into four different categories. Simple as that.

Kucera - Born in Spain, grew up between Prague and Amsterdam, Oliver Kucera has been making & playing techno for a long time and knows how to put on a show behind his analogue gear and midi controllers. Having played at festivals and clubs, national and international and with his new tracks coming up, he's unstoppable. Some performances are only with the use of 2 laptops, EFX and a controller. On other occasions, he plays only with analogue equipment.
Regarding the future: his strong ambition drives him towards further improvement regarding his skills both as a performer and producer!
