Indepth presents: Terry Toner
Born in Jakarta, Indonesia in era of bad fashion, bad politics and even worse Roxette Terry still managed to survive the 80s filtering out the mullets, leggings and shoulder pads and taking the innovative and cutting edge mentality from the original upcoming Detroit techno and Chicago house scene along to the next decades. Needless to say that this music became his original inspiration and is the base to what Terry’s sound has evolved in today.

As one of the key players behind Amsterdam based party organisation ElectroNation Terry Toner has gradually built his name as a household force in the Dutch electronic music scene. In 2008 & 2009 Terry released 2 critically acclaimed E.P. on Echoism Recordings which have been supported by international powerhouses like Laurent Garnier, Carl Cox, Roger Sanchez, Tiefschwarz, Dubfire, Slam, Fedde Le Grand, Gregor Tresher, John Digweed, Sasha, Danny Howells, Tom Novy, Mason and many others. Also Mandy choose to use his titlke track Eat the positive for their mix compilation on Rennaissance. In the same year he kickstarted a new series from the ubercool German imprint Systematic Recordings named Musica Balearica. Systematic recordings head honcho Marc Romboy ask him to put together the soundtrack of his Balearic experiences over the past few years resulting in a subtle and gracious mix featuring his own Tempo Doeloe (EC Records). The Spanish Isle saw him bringing it down a notch or two favouring delicate electronics over up tempo floorfillers. The sequel for his Musica Balearica series has already been released mid 2010. In 2010 Terry also released a remix for the new album of Belgian electropop sensation Vive La Fete and for Dutch Jazzpop diva Caro Emerald – Back it up, who has been the longest nr 1 selling album ever in the Netherlands. After giving these chart tracks a special Terry T. treatment he’s working on some original material as well.
Besides producing Terry’s Dj schedule been as hectic as one can be spanning the entire European continent. Already being a proven name in his home country of Holland it became time to span the energy and magic of Terry’s dj sets throughout the rest of the world resulting in several international residencies in various A-listed location like The EGG (London), Sugar Factory (Amsterdam), Café d’Anvers (Antwerp) and Make Up Club (Ghent)
In addition to these residencies his dj schedule have been filled with several key performances in various places and venues like Sonar (Barcelona), Fuse (Brussels), Ministry of Sound (London), Soundplanet (Kiev), Paradiso (Amsterdam), Dancevalley, Mysteryland and numerous other places where his energetic sound has touched dancefloors into electronic frenzies.
