Biografie
Ewa is not your typical violinist. Her style is being described as hitting every note as if it were the last one. At age six, Ewa started playing the piano. Two years later she switched to the violin, studying at the Chopin School of Music, Poland. She graduated with honours in 2000. Continuing her education at the Cracow Institute of Performing Arts and Media Studies, Ewa obtained a Diploma in Drama and Broadcasting in 2002. In 2012 she graduated in International Relations at Cracow's Jagiellonian University.
Ewa has been active on the international music scene as a violinist for over a decade. She has performed as a soloist at various EU events. Her interest in improvisation started when she first came to Amsterdam, playing with a wide range of performers and experimenting with different musical styles and arrangements. She has also worked with various DJs joining them on their live sets in clubs all over in Amsterdam and the Netherlands.
Her collaboration with Bassculture started in 2008. She performed with their DJs at events such as Fusion Festival (2009) and the Amsterdam Roots Festival (2009, 2010, 2012) as well as other venues. In 2010 Ewa joined the Australian band Loonaloop on their Europe summer tour, continuing in 2011, 2012 and 2013. With Loonaloop she performed at, amongst others, the Glastonbury Festival , Green Gathering , Dance Valley , World Bodypainting Festival , Rock for People , Ruigoord Trance Festival , La Baladin Festival . In 2013 Ewa played in a string section of a Dutch band, Christopher Green, at Pinkpop Festival . She also performed with an Austrian band RhythMen at Gailklang Festival .
Ewa is always fascinated at the prospects to develop and explore new musical horizons. She sees her future in music and is always interested in new opportunities to further develop her musical career. Presently Ewa is working on various projects and most recently collaborated with Cat Green Eye, a Dutch band, and Wavecandy, a Dutch music dance producer. She also improvises as guest player on Cheeky Monday Radio, a programme that broadcast live on SUB FM, an Internet radio station.
Stay tuned for more. Ewa definitely has not hit her last note, yet.
