Biografie
Born in Essen, Germany in 1983, Chris indulged in his passion for music from a young age. While he was growing up with a father that played instruments like the guitar and the piano, he also listened to his sister's music. At a very young age it became clear to him that one day he was gonna be working in the music industry.
From the first moment Chris entered a club (he was 12 years at the time) and laid eyes on the DJ, he knew that this was what he was destined to do! Fascinated by what a DJ could do to a crowd, Chris continued on to visit the club every weekend just to see what the DJ's were up to. Not long after, he got invited by one of the DJ's to help him in booth. Being infected with the "DJ virus" he visited this DJ's studio each week to watch and learn from a pro.
Not long after, during a Christmas celebration Chris got what he was waiting for, his own DJ gear!
Soon he spend all his time and money and practised all the time to become as good as the DJ he had seen all those years ago...
While chasing the dream of becoming a DJ himself, he got his first chance in 1999. That is when he started working as the youngest in a group of DJ's. Only one year later he made his first mix tape. As a result, he got offered a chance to be a resident DJ at the biggest club in his hometown Essen. This is where he could expose his turntable skills for the first time and where he found his love for housebeats.
While following the scene in the UK, the United States and especially The Netherlands, he realized he wanted to be something different, something better. He then specialized himself into remixing on the spot. Soon his reputation as a club DJ grew and his fanbase expanded rapidly. He was now recognized for his undeniable ability to create a party at any venue. With that his career took another big step forward. From that moment on he started playing in renowned clubs; such as Index (Shüttdorf/GER), Harders Plaza (Harderwijk/NL), Powerzone (Amsterdam/NL), Beach Club Vroeger (Bloemendaal/NL), James Dean (Alanya/Turkey), Club Stonx (Praha/CZ) and his career got bigger and bigger. He was then asked for countless line-ups featuring big names in the music industry like: Chuckie, Laidback Luke, Fatman Scoop, Afrojack, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano. By then the world had started to tune in. The name Chris Ellis was becoming a household name!
Since then, he has worked with international artists / DJ's and has been touring in places such as: Ibiza (Spain), Alanya (Turkey), Prha (Czech Republic), Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Antwerp (Belgium), Cologne, Frankfurt (Germany) and many other countries, Chris Ellis proved he could rock clubs all over Europe…
