Biografie
Gohan and Raoul know each other from way back. Both grew up in Lochem, a small city in the east of Holland. At that time their focus was mainly hip-hop orientated. Through more experimental music from artists like Amon Tobin, Plaid, Luke Vibert, Boards Of Canada and Aphex Twin they slowly moved more and more to the electronic spectrum of music.
Shortly after they rapidly discovered the attractions of nightlife. Through party's like Awakenings, I Love Techno and the legendary club night Planet Rose they grew a huge passion for Detroit Techno. Especially Planet Rose played a major role in their musical career. They got really inspired and exited by all the great artist they saw passing by and the vibrant scene in and around Nijmegen. At that time Techno and Electro dominated the Dutch underground scene. Artist like Derrick May, Drexciya, Jeff Mills, Basic Channel, Maurizio, British Murder Boys and Carl Craig inspired Gohan and Raoul to be Dj's themselves.
Raoul bought his first pair of turntables at the age of 18. Gohan started to collect some records he heared in the weekends. These elements combined resulted in playing records side by side for many hours on Raoul's bedroom. Before they could mix properly they got their first gig. After playing at some small party's for a few years Gohan and Raoul got their first "big one" by playing in the backroom of their beloved club Doornroosje at Drift with Karotte.
Gohan moved to Nijmegen in 2005. At this time Raoul focused more on producing music while Gohan continued collecting records. They each did their own thing for a few years. Raoul did his liveset on festivals like Dancevalley and Have A Nice Day. Gohan became one of the "Planet Rose Allstars" and had the honor to play in the mainroom Doornroosje before Detroit icon Juan Atkins a.k.a. Model 500. He also won the DJBroadcast DJ contest in 2010 which allowed him to play for thousands of people at Exit Festival in Serbia.
When Gohan moved to Utrecht they started playing together again. They still play a sound based on their love for Detroit and Chicago butare also discovering new grounds. Gohan and Raoul don't believe in musical boundaries so their current sound is a vibrant mix of house, disco, techno or whatever they like to play at that moment. This resulted in playing at Planet Rose, Pathfinder Festival, Stekker Festival, Paradiso, Have A Nice Day, Crackhouse, Dancevalley, Lief Festival, Drift, Je Moeder and many others. Recently, they joined the Triphouse Rotterdam collective. The Triphouse crew is one of the major players in the Dutch underground scene so Gohan and Raoul are very pleased to be part of this crew full of music passionates.
