Biografie
Music lover and (downtempo) breakbeat, drum&bass and house DJ. Also, founder and organiser of MELT & Champion Sound drum&bass in Leiden.
Syze has been into electronic dance music since the early nineties. He discovered his passion for breakbeat in 1996. Ever since, Syze has been spreading his love for this sound...
He made his drum&bass DJ debut at LVC, Leiden in 1998. During his study he and his friends organized small electronic dance parties under the name of Endtroducing.
Also, he was responsible for the weekly downtempo breakbeat and drum&bass night 6FeetUnderground at Chill Out Café in Leiden.
During his nine month stay in San Diego he spun with DVC at UCSD campus, his guest-DJ's at KSDT Radio and with the local DEEP residents in 2003.
Back in Holland, he co-hosted the electronic dance show Next Groove on local Radio Holland Centraal and later on Unity FM, Leiderdorp from 2004 till 2010. In that period he began to spin other styles like downtempo, breaks, electro, deephouse and progressive
as well.
Together with his friends he launched the Leiden based MELT concept in 2005, which after a merge in 2007 evolved in Champion Sound at LVC... a smashing, uplifting and razorsharp event focusing on the dance floor orientated drum&bass.
Although Champion Sound is still running as one of the hottest drum&bass parties in the Netherlands, Syze quitted residency in 2010. In the future, Syze plans to be more involved with other electronic dance music styles like downtempo, breakbeat and house as well as polish his DJ skills.
