Biografie
The Konrad Koselleck Big Band was founded by pianist, arranger, composer and conductor Konrad Koselleck. Its members include highly talented jazz musicians from various nationalities. In 2004 Koselleck introduced his band in the Dutch jazz scene during an evening concert at the Bimhuis. This special night was attended by jazz prominence such as Henk Meutgeert and Eric van Lier who highly valued the band's quality and performance. It inspired Koselleck to continue composing and arranging new big band repertoire showing a great sense of originality and creativity according to Peter Herbolzheimer, one of the most recognized European big band composers.
The Konrad Koselleck Big Band started to challenge 'big band tradition' through cross over arrangements unifying traditional jazz feel and today's pop- and rock music combined with theater, cabaret and even classical music. In 2005 the band did feature music and film star Ellen ten Damme in a series of concerts covering jazz and German rock music.
From 2005 up to 2009 the KKBB performed every month at the Sugar Factory near Leidseplein, the hart of Nightlife in Amsterdam featuring various artists like Mathilde Santing, Claron McFadden, Hind, Jeroen Zijlstra, Sven Ratzke and many others.
Since 2009 the band plays every 2 month in Netherlands most famous Jazz club, the Bimhuis featuring various guests among them Fay Lovsky, Hans Dagelet, Izaline Calister, Greetje Kauffeld and Blick Bassy.
In 2010 they hit the Concertgebouw of Amsterdam with Candy Dulfer and Hind.
The KKBB played on many festivals like North Sea Jazz, Nazomerfestival Middelburg, Parade and the Univé Gym Gala
