Biografie
When Michiel De Rouck and Jan Walraven walked through the entrance of the Make Up Club in Ghent for the very first time, a new world opened itself to them. They found themselves in the middle of one of the legendary Hindu Nights parties and were immediately struck by what they saw and heard. Boys and girls were dancing as if their lives depended on it to those magnificent tunes you don't often get to hear in Belgian clubs, reaching from immortal classics by the likes of The Beatles and The Kinks, to modern legends like Arctic Monkeys and The Libertines. The two friends didn't quite grasp what they encountered, yet they instantly knew what they wanted to do: become indie DJs themselves and make people dance to what they play. Dilly Boys were born and they only subdued themselves to one single rule: they would only play songs they absolutely love.
It was Hindu Nights organiser and former Make Up Club promoter Peter Verbeke who granted Dilly Boys their very first opportunity to showcase their qualities
for an audience. It didn't take long before the pair became regulars in the club.
October 2009 was another turning point, as they started up their own interpretation of a fantastic indie night. Date With The Night in Oudenaarde was an incredible success. Those who missed out don't have to worry, as the party wasn't a one-off event.
Repulsed by flat remixes, but trapped in an ongoing love affair with the indie and Britpop classics we all cherish, Dilly Boys have already played venues and festivals like Fi:hP, Vooruit Ghent, Make Up Club, Kaffee Hyppo, Kinky Star, Qubus, Depot Leuven and Rector, and shared the bill with: Adam Ficek (ex-Babyshambles), Drew McConnell (Babyshambles), Dean Mumford (The Rifles), Sam De Bruyn (StuBru), Phil Smith (Oasis tour DJ), Paul Gallagher (Liam and Noels brother) Hindu Radio DJ's (Hard To Beat), Eppo Janssen (Pukkelpop) and many more.
