Gino Lightner is one of the innovators of the Dutch house scene. Working closely with Abraxas & Flamman in Holland's first exclusively house music venue- 'Subtopia' became heroes of the underground/after hour scene. Eventually he became a regular with such organizers as Multigroove, Dancevalley, Mysteryland, Pacha A'dam, Planet E Basel, as well as 'Wooferland winter edition'.
Currently working closely with several producers including Dj Diablo's DeFuse Records & Cosmic Disco Records and Foremost Poets Dj Johnny Dangerous , one of the most innovative underground producers from Philly. Also promoters Funk Box , Soulgasm, Nosi records, & Wobble music -NYC. See you soon @..What Is On Your Mind @ BARKODE, ,Kashmir Lounge, Cafe 't Schuim ("Delicious Grooves" every Thursday w/ Dj Hep Cat), Obsessions festival (2013), Wooferland ('13), ADE ('13)
Also just started new tracks with Dj Onchet (o33-Recordingz) and Lars Johansson (Wooferland) ... New mixes coming soon including fresh promos on COSMIC DISCO, many solo projects & other collaborations with new & seasoned producers.
Winner Dommelsch Twstd DJ contest 2006/2007 !!! Ramon Brouwer aka DJ Nomar is 30 years old and lives in Uithoorn, a village near Amsterdam, capital of the Netherlands. In 1996 Nomar was responsible for the organisation of the " Frequency" - parties (later called Flexxz) and played there with DJ's as Carlijn, Estroe, Cellie and JP. He also played at several parties in his hometown region including 'Tumult' in Abcoude, 'Patronaat' in Haarlem, 'De Boei' in Vinkeveen and 'The Border' in Amstelveen, and also on the famous radio station New Dance Radio, later known as Slam FM. He turned tables on regular Saturdays in the Mazzo in Amsterdam for more than 3 years. Those evenings, as 'Expect the Unexpected', 'Off The Record' and 'Drive', were highlights for Nomar. At that time, Dj's like Steve Rachmad, Cellie and Bart Skils were also involved and active in the Mazzo-residency. Unfortunately these evenings ended in 2001. After a short breather Nomar became active again as DJ for audiences in 2004. He started the organisation of Mixupp parties and enlarged his Techno-techhouse style with mainly Minimal house, feeling inspired and challenged by this new combination. Nomar was recently invited to play on internet stations Deep.FM and United DJ's Radio, and he organised and played at the successful MazzOriginaL, a reunion with DJ's Estroe and Cellie. Nomar reached the Finals of the Dommelsch TWSTd DJ Contest in February 2006, after competing against 150 DJs through the quarter and semi-finals. In the semi-finals he won both the jury and the public vote. Winning the jury prize meant he'd be one of 4 finalists to play in 'Paradiso', held on the 3rd of February 2007. Here once again he won the audience and jury prizes, and became the unchallenged winner of the year! The jury included professional representatives from the renowned Anna Agency. Nomar hopes that people will be more open minded to new or different styles of house music and feels that house music has a lot more to offer. By playing during the Dommelsch tours and other spots in coming times he hopes to bring this idea across.
Dakafka; an Amsterdam DJ & Selector (producer) active since 1995. Started as an ambient DJ, playing at underground parties, benefits, clubs and venues. My sound soon evolved to a more up-beat tempo playing all kinds of dub influenced dance styles.
Played at big squats like The Silo, Vrieshuis Amerika, ADM and Rijkshemelvaart. Starting as a chill out dj in club Trance Buddha, ended up hosting the Saturday evenings in the downstairs arena for a few years.Other clubs I ran my sessions in: Melkweg, Time Machine, Amp Studios, Paradiso, Studio 80, Errorkrew, The Bus. Even played at bigger venues like Digital Overdose, Mystery Land, Future Reggae Ruigoord and Magneet Festival. Had an interesting session last year at the Jah with Zen Rockers!
As a DJ I've always been interested in making live radio, mixing and soundscaping too. Back in the days and born out out of my passion for radio I and a firm group of friends and dj's soon launced our own non commercial (pirate) free radiostation in 1990; called Free Style fm 101.5 and shared that frequency with Radio Patapoe wich was also a big non commercial underground pirate radiostation that still excists nowadays, but no longer via airwaves. I've played on several big independent Radiostations here in the city, the biggest one of them was Radio 100. A non commercial & non profit, independent, free ("pirate") Radiostation wich was broadcasting 24/7 all over Amsterdam and surroundings. Also, there was a very good live stream via the www (24/7).Radio 100 was one of the first in town broadcasting via the web with the best support from DFM rtv Int.
As a dj I hosted/presented a few shows, one of them was called "Het Podium"; presented and produced by me and best friend dj Bergman. Besides our program I had my own; Serotonine, on the air for many years, alongside of this I was a regular (in time of absence or holidays) fill-in (for example) programs like Roots & Culture, a show hosted by King Shiloh.
The Bus Party Organization was started in Amsterdam in 1996 by Debra Mitchell as a vehicle to bring English dj John OO Fleming to The Netherlands. Borrowing the name from the philosophy of '60's Merry Pranksters, w/ approval of Ken Kesey, The Bus got running Sat 2 March '96 at Amsterdam's Catacomben.
Sat 9 Aug '96, after just 3 small parties, The Bus made their Paradiso V.I.P. Club debut headlined by Dave Randall, having made his Netherlands debut 20 Apr '96 on The Bus at Catacomben. The Bus celebrated their 1-yr anniversary at Paradiso, their 3rd Paradiso party in little more than 6 months, with John OO Fleming.
In total The Bus has done 14 full Paradiso parties with international djs such as Billy Nasty, Fabio Paras, Steve Thomas, Devilfish...local heros JP, Angelo, Paul Jay, Cellie, Gino, Misja...and introduced newcomers Bart Skils & Steven de Peven. Also responsible for memorable parties at the Church of Ruigoord, Mazzo, and various squats, (working w/ Radical Rehousing), The Bus has travelled to Denmark with Het Amsterdam Ballongezelschap to organize parties.
In 2001 Ken Kesey passed on, and Debra took a back seat in the party world, having lost her mentor. Now after an overhaul, The Bus is back. With monthly parties at Frisco Inn, parties at Cue Bar, as well as Paradiso and Pand 14, The Bus is now in talks with some of Holland's biggest festival organizers.
What to expect on a Bus party?? ---Excellent music (techno/acid/house), handmade decoration, a fun warm friendly atmosphere where you can be yourself, plus an opportunity for new artists to work with the established. Are you on The Bus?
