---------------------------------
What better way to kick off the CAMERA JAPAN festival than with vocalist Damo Suzuki, who, might we add, used to be the vocalist for krautrock legends CAN. Damo will team up for an exclusive jam with a line up of today's celebrated Japanese underground artists, all of whom will also be playing solo sets. ***Update: the improvised band with Damo will be backed up by a very talented 'mystery' drummer for this occasion. The breaks between sets will be glued together by Rotterdam's own dj Ukikusa Hikaru.***
---------------------------------
►DAMO SUZUKI
Former singer of Can, one of the most influential bands of the last century. In 1983, the pioneering krautrocker initiated his 'Damo Suzuki Network': a never ending tour, playing each and every show with an improvised line up of locals and friends, subsequently becoming virtually the biggest band on earth, with an estimated 500+ members.

►DJ SCOTCH BONNET
Shigeru Ishihara aka dj Scotch Egg recently wowed crowds with Drum Eyes and Devilman. He worked with Bo Ningen’s Taigen Kawabe and played bass in the reformed electronic pioneers Seefeel. His new solo project Scotch Bonnet sees him swapping the gameboy and 8-bit limitation of Dj Scotch Egg for hefty bass-driven breaks and dope beats referencing Scorn, NHK and the dance music culture of his latest home-town, Berlin.

►IKU SAKAN
In his richly textured music, Iku Sakan searches for soulful moments from soulless materials through a constantly shifting collection of sound sources, melding improvisation and dj'ing practices. In recent years he has been developing his craft within the network of underground venues and musicians in Berlin, both as a musician and concert organiser. He collaborated with e.g. Maher Shalal Has Baz, Frisk Frugt and Muneomi Senju (ex- Boredoms).

►DJ DIE SOON (DYSU)
Dj Die Soon (or 'Dysu') made his presence known in the electronic music scene with an impressive number of live shows, hitting hard with his unique brand of Japanese horror induced, beat heavy music. Dysu is a keen collaborator (teamed up with Shigeru Scotch Bonnet to start Small But Hard Records) and shared stages with e.g. Kool Keith, dj Krush, Roots Manuva.
