Biografie
Civilist is the house & techno alias of Mark van Zon, a twentyfour year old dj from Holland. After living in Rotterdam for five years Civilist recently returned to the South where he's originally from.
He has been active behind the decks since 2007. His love for electronic music started with garage and early UK house. His musical preference changed through the years, but his love for deep bass, percussion and repetitive patterns remained unchanged.
Civilist has played well over a hundred gigs through Holland and even did a couple fo gigs across the borders. He's currently co-running a house/techno concept called ALTRNTE at popodium Nieuwe Nor, where he has been one of the resident dj's since '08.
His style varies from melodious house to deep (minimal) techno and even a hint of disco now and than.. Always trying to feel what needed at that moment, and give the crowd what they want without loosing his own personal take on what dance music should sound like.
