Rukshun

Rukshun aka The Yard Slang Prophet is one of the wildest MC's you will ever witness. With energy to spare, Rukshun takes to the microphone with a passion for the music and the need to entertain the masses attending your event. Rukshun has been a microphone fiend since the mid-eighties and he is one of the hip hop pioneers on the island of Sint Maarten. After he moved to The Netherlands to pursue his studies, he took a break from recording music and started MC-ing at several popular events. Rukshun has the ability to seamlessly switch between different styles, depending on the overall vibe of the event. When performing as an artist, his style, "Ya'd Slang", can be described as a blend of Dancehall Reggae and Hip Hop music with a hint of Soca. The Caribbean element is definitely present in his explosive deliveries and punchlines. Rukshun has opened for a number of international artists, including Red Rat, Reggae Legends Third World and much more. He also performed in the FUBU Y2G Getaway concert series which included performances by Run DMC, Whodini, Deborah Cox, Teena Marie, Mary J Blige and many more. Rukshun is currently the resident MC for 3 Amigos Sunday After-party.
