DAVE CLARKE (White Noise, UK)
A hard working purist, forward thinking futurist, technology geek, part Gothic and gadget lover who embraced the digital revolution in an early stage while his peers where still sniffing the smell of vinyl, a format he hasn’t used professionally in eleven years. It’s unsurprising he revels in the libertarianism of the World Wide Web. It gives symmetry to his savvy techno vision.
POINT G (live, FR)
Point G is the sharper, tougher alias of Gregory Darsa, also known as DJ Gregory. Back in the ‘90s Darsa delivered a consistent barrage of sophisticated yet rough tracks. Recently, though, through his (reasonably) new alias he has focused his musical talents on producing club-ready tools where melody goes on the back foot - and raw snares and brisk, sturdy basslines take to the fore. To really enjoy a Point G track, you have to hear in in a club – that’s what these tracks were made for and that’s where they shine.
ANDREW JAMES GUSTAV (Undersound, UK)
Amassing on the peripheries of dance music culture, far from the mainstream, is a group of DJs purveying a sound not quite like anything else around today. It’s a scene that preserves important values, in a broader sphere where it has become all too easy for musicians without real talent or adequate understanding to sell themselves as DJs. Andrew James Gustav is one of those rare artists spinning tunes you’ve never heard and often won’t hear again.
