Biografie
A Bunch of Guys is the moniker of Utrecht-based DJ/producer Rob Scholtens,
who has
gained recognition for his unique take on house music. Rob's musical
journey began at an
early age, where he started taking drum lessons at the age of 6 and later
pursued the guitar
at 11. He continued his passion for music and studied jazz guitar at the
conservatory music
school in Zwolle, where he was exposed to different genres like jazz,
fusion, and Latin
music. This diverse exposure has shaped Rob's sound and is evident in his
production style
today.
Rob is always exploring ways to fuse his love for house music with his
expertise in playing
musical instruments. His studio work quickly led to his debut solo EP,
where he displayed his
musical talents by playing various instruments, including double bass,
piano, and Fender
Rhodes, earning him the title of a one-man band.
In 2020, Rob released his EP "Let the Rhythm Hit'em" on Dirt Crew
Recordings, which
received praise from fans and critics alike. He followed this up with his
recent EP, "Baby
Come Dance," released in March 2023 on the Future Feel label of dutch house
legend
Michel de Hey.
As a DJ, Rob's sets are a reflection of his work in the studio, where he
combines his passion
for house and funk, influenced by the classic Detroit and Chicago sounds.
With a unique
blend of musical genres and an unwavering dedication to his craft, A Bunch
of Guys
continues to make a name for himself in the house music scene.
