Biografie
Camilo Escobar Lehmann a.k.a. Crapulax, discovered rap, like many, during his adolescence. The son of an artist and a comedian, both Chilean activists having fled from Pinochet's dictatorship, he developed a taste for the arts... and rebellion which would lead him towards graffiti art. With his crew CST, he hit Brussels with "Reem", for Raemador, his first alias which he would keep until maturity. Then, arrived Crapulax...
In 97, he brushed up against words, and started rapping. Street freestyle, park freestyle, love was born. With his brother Lanceflow and their follower -who would take on the nickname "Carslberg Slim"- they created Bunker. Armed with their talent, the collective would shine right from the beginning of the 2000s on every compilation that mattered: Tapage, 9 Minutes, La Face C, etc... up until Dès Le Depar which would concretise Bunker's status with "Loosin' The Night".
In the midst of their stride, Lanceflow released his solo project "Orgie Dans le Son" in 2008. The Bunker found themselves once again in the spotlight, and engraved their name once and for all in the concrete of the Brussels hip-hop scene. "Références", "Les Femmes Savent Pourquoi"; Camilo, at the time Raemador, backed his brother up and refined his style.
Crapulax was about to be born...
His gestation period: Working in city center bars! Always far from blow, never far from a "pintje", Crapulax would sharpen his lyrics. His influences would become clear. From High & Mighty, Wu-Tang, Souls Assassins, Fabe, Iam or Gangstarr from his adolescence, to Deep Purple, José Feliciano and Victor Jara from his childhood; the "zinneke" let his rhyme belly grow. His head full of ambition, he let himself be rocked by Sean Price, Dipset, Seth Gucko, Flynt, Dilated Peoples, Mobb Deep...
In 2013, Le Bourgmestre dropped. A first street album to warm up. The music video "Ca m'Fait de la Peine" dripped with sweat, dirt, and beer... Everything that makes Crapulax who he is.
In 2014, first real studio album. With "Violence Gratuite et Flûte de Pan", he revealed the true scope of his expertise. Despite legendary vulgarity, Crapulax demonstrated with this project that he is much more than the "MOFOKE" that he is often summed up to be. With DJ Proceed, he defended his album, notably on stage at Botanique for the "Lezarts Urbains" festival.
The alcohol continued to flow under the bridge, but he could not stop there.
A Handful of Punchlines and some "featurings" later... 2017. Even stronger with a growing family due to the birth of his daughter, it's with more determination than ever that he drops "Le Bourgmestere Vol. 2 – Yvan Meilleur". Proceed left way for Smimooz which, for the rapper marked by "Une Balle Dans La Tête" by De Puta Madre, is an accomplishment in and of itself.
The rest of the story is still to be written...
