Biografie
A bona fide national treasure in her home country and ever broadening global fan base – Astrid S has gained over 1 billion streams with hit songs such as "Hurts So Good", "Think Before I Talk" and "Such A Boy".
The journey for Astrid S towards superstardom is one of escape and destiny. She was born in the tiny Norwegian hamlet of Berkåk. 'In the heart of Norway,' she says, 'quite literally.' Music was her first love, soccer her second. She dropped out of a soccer school to enter Norwegian Idol at 16 and promptly earned her fist indigenous top 10 hit, 'Shattered'.
She signed to Sony ATV Music Publishing as a songwriter that year. Since, Astrid has been honing her brilliant ear for a pop chorus and identifiable, genre-bending lyrics.
Astrid S sold out her Party's Over World Tour with 32 shows in the US, UK and Europe - ending the tour with 11 shows in her home country. 2018 saw the release of "Emotion" followed up with the bold and catchy track "Closer". Astrid ended 2018 by joining Years & Years on their UK tour, culminating in a show at London's O2 Arena.
The rising superstar has even more exciting things planned for the next year. Kicking off 2019 is "Someone New", a brand new pop banger from Astrid. About the track, Astrid says, "Someone New is a song about being a little obsessed over an ex. I wanted it to sound a bit childish and desperate, but still have a chorus you can sing along to in your car. I made it with Noonie Bao, Charli XCX, Jakob Hazell and Svante Halldin. It was a very fun and quick process to make it, and I'm very excited for people to hear it."
Look out for new music as well as more live shows – with Europe to be the first to enjoy her precense as support for the Years & Years Tour, before heading to the US for live shows in Los Angeles and New York.
Astrid S recalls exactly what pop music made her feel like as a young girl in a small town. 'The moment I put a Discman on I was in another world. It was magical.' Now she is ready to translate that early metamorphosis for her own fans. 'To give them a world to get lost in as well.' She is ready to colonise pop music with her own indefatigable energy. 'Now I feel ready to fly.'
