Maaka

Very rarely does a singer like this emerge from the ashes. With one of the smoothest voices soul has to offer and charisma and personality to boot, Maaka is slowly making his mark in the New Zealand Music Scene.

Maaka has sung for numerous projects over the years. From events like Library openings and Website launches through to National and International tours and an audience with PM John Keys, but it was his involvement as a top 12 contestant in the reality TV show 'The X Factor New Zealand' that turned this soul singer into a household name overnight, wowing a national audience week after week.

With the success and exposure the show created for Maaka, 2013 saw him spend a lot of time on the road and sharing the stage with the likes of Stan Walker, Aaradhna, Sammy J and Tevin Campbell as well as many other appearances up and down the country.

Having released his debut single 'Movin' On' which went to national radio in a matter of days, it seems there is nothing anyone can do to slow Maaka down. At the moment, he is writing his debut album, ready for production and a release.
