Biografie
BeApple's biography tells the remarkably successful story about what just might be the best Dutch Beatles tribute band. The Dutch Beatles band who started as absolute beginners, but reached the status of an internationally invited band within 3 years.
At the end of october 2006 4 enthusiastic Beatles lovers, all of them experienced musicians, started BeApple. From the very first moment they were on the same frequency, despite the fact they had never met before. The members never changed ever since. BeApple consists of
Alain Leijtens - guitar and vocals,
Cees van Rooden - drums and vocals,
Rik van Stiphout - keys and vocals, en
Niels Tiebosch - bass, guitar and vocals.
Thanks to Hans, the owner of the rehearsing room, BeApple got with hardly a full playlist already in january 2007 the offer to be the main act. With only 15 songs on their list BeApple appears at the famous Muziekcafé in Helmond on 16 march 2007.
Nearly a year after the first gig, there's the first prize. BeApple's interpretation of Fixing a Hole attracted the attention of English radio man Kieron Collins earlier on. In his '5 o Clock Rock Show' the song is played on a regular basis. In march 2008 BeApple wins the 'Beatles Unlimited Golden Apple Award 2008' with the same song. The jury praised BeApple's self made ending of the song, leaving the other four finalists behind with a distance. The extra Getting Better, after playing the winning song again is called an 'equally successful version'.
The same year the much appreciated Revolver Magazine asks BeApple to contribute to a special White Album 40th Anniversary compilation CD 'Het Witte Album'. That contribution becomes Mother Nature's Son. BeApple's recorded version is a daring combination of the studio version with variations from unique existing Beatles demos and live-performances with accordion of Paul McCartney.
BeApple goes a bit further in november by recording A Day In The Life with a large accordion orchestra. A homevideo of this experiment made by a fan appears on Youtube right away.
In january 2009 BeApple has their first gig abroad: in Antwerp on the famous 'Buster podium'. Within a month after that 9 gigs in Liverpool are confirmed.
In march BeApple is programmed at the Lennon Memorial Event in Amsterdam Hilton, the conclusion of the legendary John and Yoko Bed-in for Peace memorial.
During the Beatle Week occurring from 26 august until the 1st of september BeApple literally attracts international attention. A request from Austria to play a gig directly a week after that has to be cancelled. In october a similar request follows from Argentina to play 4 gigs in Buenos Aires the end of november of this year. BeApple enters a new stage in their short existence.
The 'Eindhoven Four' ranges in the long queue of existing coverbands in the world. The approach of the varied music of the Beatles is however not to be compared. Next to the recognisable Beatles sound the atmosphere and the character of the original recordings is put first. BeApple is one of the few Beatles bands capable of playing 'the inside' of the music. All this leads to BeApple sounding differently in most of the songs. And still all matches with the originals.
