Biografie
Jawad Boumalek is a born and bred Belgian, but his music provides a hint as to his origins.
His productions imprint elements of bass music with sample-heavy, loopy North African and Middle Eastern music, which places him at the forefront of a generation of innovative and fresh producers in Belgium.
This "Moroccan Bass" sound, as Jabo calls it, defined his debut EP, Harissa, which appeared on Lowup records in 2015. Later remixed by Lewis Cancut (AUS), Bauchamp
and DJ Mellow on Harissa Remix EP. His debut EP got supported by heavywheights such as DJ SNAKE, Toddla T, Acid Arab and many more.
Its latest successor, « Sonic Mizwid », displays a more terse and introspective strand to his sonic identity.
