Biografie
Jackie Lou (a.k.a. Sanne van Veen) is a 22 year old singer-songwriter from Rotterdam. After graduating the Theater High School in Rotterdam, she moved to Amsterdam where she studied Performing Arts for four years at the Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts.
During her bachelor she started vocal group THE BLAXX with Paul Morris and Janneke Jak. A soulful, swinging trio performing on various events and the tv-show Carlo's TV Café. In 2015 she appeared in the reality show Fame Academy (AVROTROS).
Right after her studies, Sanne impersonated the role of Eva in the Dutch musical Drs. Down!, written by Ivo Niehe.
After the musical, she took on her stage-name Jackie Lou and started working as a solo singer. Inspired by 60's and 70's rock and soul artists such as The Rolling Stones, Carole King and Chicago she's now writing and producing her own material and aims to release an album in the near future. Her goal is to create an opposing force against the current pop-music industry, by making timeless and meaningful music.
Jackie Lou currently is a singer and host for the legendary Wicked Jazz Sounds club nights in Sugar Factory Amsterdam. Since 2002, a Wicked Jazz Sounds club night is a party where DJs and musicians jam together on a danceable mix of fine music. The successful club nights have grown into Amsterdam's most constant nights.
'Trying to make the world a little lighter.
Hoping to inspire, liberate and move others.
Working hard to make this all possible and living life to be free.'
