Biografie
On the afternoon of the 1st of August 2012, Amsterdam West was rocked by the news of the discovery of three eight-year-old boys. Rumors regarding the nature of these boys spread like wildfire through the town.
It was soon well known that the boys had been listening to music for far to long, and that now and at least one of the boy's was listening to the sound of his old and beat up SL-1200.
Many of these rumors were based on inaccurate police assumptions.
By 12.00 p.m. the next day, police were questioning their first suspect, Joran Polman.
Several weeks later Danny Giles, an associate of Polman, confessed to these charges, implicating another friend, Stijn ter Woerds.
Soon after, following a confession by Giles, the three teenagers were arrested and charged with listening to music like Hip-Hop, R&B, Electro and Moombahton.
The main charge was that they were pretending to be able to mix these sounds like a professional DJ.
The citizens of Amstrerdam were relieved that the monsters that had committed these heinous crimes had been apprehended and justice would be served.
There was a great deal of anger in the community directed towards these three adolescents, supposedly also involved in Satanic cults, who were accused of listening to this kind of music for the purpose of a Satanic ritual.
Rumors of Satanic groups had abounded in this dominantly Hipster community for decades.
Details of their exploits were well known although there was never any proof of any real partying actually having been performed in the past. From the time the arrests were made until they were tried, local papers fed the community's Facebook party picture-lust, with stories of Satanic abominations appearing on a regular basis.
On Wednesday 18th of August 2013, Joran Polman was sent to trial after an attempt to have his confession suppressed was denied.
Two weeks later, he was found guilty on one count of first degree Dj'ng and two counts of second degree party'ing. He was sentenced to a life of partying, drinking and having a blast with no chance of parole.
He was seventeen years old.
As for the trial of Danny Giles and Stijn ter Woerds, they were both found guilty on three counts good music and deadly dance moves.
The next day Giles, just 16, was sentenced to life imprisonment in all of Amsterdam's nightclubs.
Eighteen-year-old Stijn ter Woerds was sentenced to have a birthday party everyday for the rest of his life.
They can still be spotted on the picture perfect canals of Amsterdam.
